{things i love} thursday
april 30th edition

welcome to thursday.
its been a rough week so far, mostly because i've had a headache pretty much non-stop for about a week and a half now. feeling so drained. :(
but i'm still alive.
still reading blogs.
still looking at pictures
and still have some fun things to share!!

i'm so loving this from the creative mind of dear rhi. brills no? can't wait to see what she creates next!!

and the amazing vee made some ATC's recently that i'm just swooning over! look HERE! and while you're there, look through some of her photostream. she is such an inspiration to me in my scrapbooking.

i thought this week i'd do something a little different and share my favorite tv shows.
chris and i love cuddling up on the couch together to watch some tv. <3
we like: house, american idol, fringe, lie to me, CSI: new york, pretty much anything on HGtv (chris says its like crack! hehe) especially my new favorite "dear genevive." she was my favorite designer from the original trading spaces show on TLC. now she's got her own show. *love* i love america's next top model and say yes to the dress. chris likes overhaulin and anything on the NFL network. that's been a fun one leading up to the draft! good times. :) :D

THE MOST DANGEROUS CAKE RECIPE

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT!

also FYI: the ladies over at THe CrEatiVe TyPe have been really sick. :( so we're postponing our prompt till next week. so keep your eyes peeled. its goona be a good one!!

a couple quick things i'd love to share! while reading through my bloglines this morning i stumbles across my name...as a WINNER!!
i'm so excited and honored!! Nancy chose me to receive some fantastic GCD Studio products. she is their newest designer and decided to give away her newest favorite stickers from them. i can't wait to get these pretties in the mail!!

nancy is one of my favorite scrapbookers. she is on the design team over at Scrapbooking from the Inside Out. they create monthly kits that have themes which you use to dig deeper with your scrapbooking. so creative, moving and insirational! you've got to check them out!

secondly... with my recent adventures in film inspired by Work-Your-Soul i won their last prompt!! i was so inspired by it! :D and the prize? a kit specially designed my the talented Kim herself! i'm so stoked!!

i'm thinking its gonna be a good weekend! i've got lots of scrappy projects in the works and i'm looking forward to watching the NFL draft with my boy this weekend. oh yeah...we're cool like that! have a good one friends!!

what a busy day. and with a uncooperative computer at that! :( boo.
but anyway.... its all good.

a weekend away...

chris and i went to Widby Island over the weekend to visit his grandparents.
our little trip turned out to be just what we needed. some time away...
we enjoyed spending time with his grandparents. they are so kind. they took out out for dinner on sunday night for Chinese food. it was seriously the best chinese food i've ever had!!! and believe me... i'm a fan! so it had to be good. my favorite was the honey walnut prawns. to die for!! wow!
okay...enough about the food. hehe.
the weather was perfect for a road trip and time on the island. bright and sunny and no rain! imagine that on the coast of washington! oh yeah, we lucked out.
i took sooo many pictures! i'll share a few of them on here, but i'm putting most of them on my Flickr. so hop on over there and leave me a comment or two! :)
along the way we drove past some amazing flower fields. tulips and dafoldills. simply breathtaking!


we also spent some time down on the beach. i got some really cute photos of chris. i'm so lucky my guy lets me take so many photos of him. he's such a good sport!



i have some more pictures to edit still, but i wanted to share these! <3 i have some from deception pass and some awesome water pictures.
i also took my mum's film camera along, so once those get developed i'll share them too.

all in all, it was a perfect weekend.
