things i love thursday

its thursday.
and im sick. :(
but i still have some fun things to share. i've missed doing my {things i love} thursday post for almost a month, so i have a little of bit collected inspiration. :)

to begin with... my flickr faves
1. 19/52, 2. summer starts now, 3. run away, 4. sweet umber <3, 5. roots and wings, 6. the world is her playground

photographer Anna Gay and her interview all about her 365 self-portrait projects.  her work is such an inspiration to me.

i am loving this tutorial by the lovely and talented tina.  gotta give some of these ideas a try soon!!

loved these affirmations and the article they came from.  its all about overcoming insecurity in scrapbooking.  powerful thoughts and encouragements.

i totally loved this fun tutorial all about still-life setups and using textures on your photos. its from the CoffeeShop blog which is full of amazing free actions and lots of unique tutorials.  if you haven't visited rita's site yet, its a must!!   i've done a few textures on my 52weeks pictures, but this photoshop tutorial looks so fun.  gonna try soon!

Ashley Ann's blog is one of my favorite regular reads.  its full of life with her kid-lets, amazing photography and inspiring DIY projects.  the most helpful tip post she did recently included a tutorial about getting in focus using self-timer mode on your camera.  this post had perfect timing for me because one of the things i get to do over at Scrapbooking from the Inside Out is create a fun tutorial every month as part of our member exclusive content.  and i want my tutorial pictures to look good!!   i learned something new from her...and its a usual occurrence.  she makes me want to create and take better pictures.

there are some online {things i love} for this wonderful thursday.
have a good one!!

a new picnik tip!!

i LOVE picnik! its where i go for all my photo editing. and i have learned so much in the last year about picnik and all its features. but, like always, i'm still learning!

i saw a picture on Flickr edited with picnik and i just loved the look of it, but had no idea how to do it myself. so i asked my contact and she showed me... directing me to a whole section of edits i didn't even know where there!!
under the "advanced" section choose "curves" and then select "faded daguerreotype."
here is a before and after to show what happens....
eek! i totally love it!!! i feel like a whole new world of options has opened up for me with just this one tip. i can't wait to explore the other presets and learn even more about picnik!
i was so excited i just had to share!! give it a try and link me up to your new photos.

i have also recently fell IN LOVE with a new photographer exploring life and herself through a 365 self-portrait project. i can't stop looking at her photos. here are some of my favorites:
her name is uneduex; she is brave and raw and such an inspiration.
please check out her photostream... you won't regret it.

there have been so many tutorials around lately that i'm so excited to try...
this first one is from Rhonna Farrer. she's been a favorite designer of mine for awhile now... and her new project House of 3 is full of juicy digital love. i just wish i had my own computer and photoshop so i could use some of it!
recently she did a step by step tutorial for the creation of these little beauties!!

check it out HERE. this i wanna try for sure!

in addition to that, one of my favorite scrappers, Mandi, did a tutorial on her blog for mini-album creation. don't get me wrong...i've done plenty of mini's before, but there is just something special about hers. see for yourself:

i want to make beautiful art like this.... *swoon*
mandi, you pretty much rock!
thanks for the tutorial!

i've seen this cool pillow a few times around on the web and thought: oh that's cool...hambly does fabric! but no! i was wrong. those are actually RUB-ONS on fabric!
check out this cool "how-to" HERE.

well, friend! i hope you're as inspired as me today.
