Coffee Date Friday

Alissa from Rags to Stitches has been doing Friday Coffee Dates for awhile and recently started making them vlogs. I love the idea of seeing someone and hearing their voice and really getting to know the person behind the blog better this way. So I thought I would link up this week and decided to film my very first vlog!!

Join me for coffee and hear 5 things you may not know about me.

So, thoughts on my very first vlog: I couldn’t stop smiling through the whole thing cuz it felt strange just talking to the computer. I wish the quality was better, but I’m assuming that’s just my webcam. Tips and tricks on that would be much appreciated. Did you get the Gilly reference? After I was finished I was kind of pleasantly excited to post and share. Maybe vlogging will appear some more here in this space.

So how was your week?
If we were having coffee together what would you share with me?

  1. I just finished watching your first vlog while I am drinking my first cup of the coffee for the day. :D Good job, girl! I absolutely loved it. I'm the same way about feeling like you know someone better when you can see them and hear them talking. Your 2nd way of saying "sorry" reminds me of all of Brandon's family in Washington. :) NOW, if *I* were to make a vlog, you'd be laughing at my extreme southern drawl! LOL!

    1. One more thing - I also have a birthmark on the inside of my arm. Crazy, huh? Mine is more the color of a freckle, but it's about 4" long. It gets darker if I've been in the sun. Oh, AND... Brandon's family is obsessed with karaoke! I can't carry a tune in a bucket, though. I will only sing with them if I have a group to drown me out. LOL Anyway, his step-cousin is the karaoke DJ at The Liquid Lime in Kirkland, WA, and so we go every time we visit. :)

    2. I would love to see your vlog Heather. And when you come to washington next time we HAVE to get together and go to your family's karaoke place. Chris and I would totally love that!
And we can compare birthmarks...how interesting the things I learned about YOU from this post. ;)

  2. I love vlogs. I've yet to post up one of my own though. I love hearing the voices of the people behind the blogs. I have a birthmark too though it's not so noticeable because it's on my back. I kind of like it too.

  4. Yay! You need to do more vlogs! I had so much fun watching! I didn't get your Gilly reference until you said SNL, then I bust out laughing. I tried making a vlog once, but I kept looking everywhere but the camera because I'm super awkward. Maybe I'll try again someday.

  13. Welcoming to vlogging world! It gets easier after a few times. I always have to remember to look at the camera on the webcam, not myself on the screen LOL!

    1. I tried really hard to do that too. It was way harder than I thought it would be. :P I'm just glad I didn't say "um" a thousand times. That's usually a first-time-vlogger pitfall. ;)

  15. Hahaha, I love it!
    I get up at 8 too, :).

Ember had a birthmark like that when she was born, not big though, just right on her pinky. It was very dark at first but has since faded quite a bit. It's something most people still don't really know about her, and whenever they do notice, they always sort of freak out!

Um, "You Were Meant for Me" is an amazing song. Old school Jewel is love.

Finally, I hear you on the dreams!! I'm about to post a well, post, about when we found out Ember was Ember. I actually had a dream about her the night before the sono. Seriously. Not even kidding. Going to try and post that today.

    :) Loved the vlog!
