Another edition of the Hair Diaries

hairdiariespostintro

It felt like I just got my lavender hair done…but the length of my hair and how faded the color had become was proof that it was time to visit Hannah, my stylist cousin again. And this time I wanted something even more drastic! I wanted platinum and super short!

And we tried…we really tried. The cut is perfection, but after 1 bleach processing, a toner, and another bleach processing it still was quite yellow. I just have super warm undertones in my hair that do not want to let go! I’ve done a couple washes with my toning shampoo since then and it’s a little less yellow, but we’re going to have to keep working with it.

With at least half the hair and a scalp on fire I left my cousin’s house a happy girl. I just love drastic hair changes. I think it’s a integral part of my personality…and fortunately, Chris is always easygoing and lets me try anything.

Here are my before and after shots:

HairDiaries-January1

We watched Frozen and played with Harper while we did my hair. We talked about life and everything that’s been going on. Hannah has quit her job at the salon she’s been working for and is going to stay at home with the kids now. So we were talking about business ventures we could possibly pursue together…like hand lettered signs and art. Lots of possibilities in the future. I just love that girl. And little Harper is getting so big! Walking with help and not satisfied to just sit in one place anymore. lol. We had a fun day together.

HairDiaries-January2

So there you have it…the newest edition of the Hair Diaries. An (almost) platinum pixie cut. I can’t wait till there is a little bit of grow-out. I really like that look too.

  1. Great change! A great way to launch into a new year!

Just yesterday I was flipping through older photos and started getting that hair-change itch! I've been patiently growing it for a couple of years to remind myself what it's like with lovely long hair ... and the colour I have on now is very close to my natural colour ... and then I go and spot a style I had about 5 years back. A red bob! Oh and what about the time I had the blonde highlights .... decisions decisions!

    1. I always think I'd love long hair that's my natural color...but I did that once and it was just kinda boring and totally not me. LOL. Sounds like you've had a lot of fun styles too. Love the idea of a red bob! :D I think 2014 is a good year for a fun hair change! ;) Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Hi Shaina! I LOVE you new cut, and my goodness you hair seems to grow so quickly. :) I love changing things up with my hair too, but have never dyed it...always just changed the cut. I think I'm just too lazy for the color maintenance. I've been growing mine out from a pixie like yours for the past two years and as of this morning my hair reaches my underarm...mission accomplished. Hope you have a fabulous day.

    1. I KNOW! It grows sooooo crazy fast. Sometimes its a good thing, and sometimes it just drives me nuts. lol. It does allow me to change things up a lot. I'm going to have to do some digging in your pictures to see you with a pixie. I'm just loving pictures of girls with pixies. They are inspiring. Glad you've gotten yours grown out... I worry about that part sometimes. :P
      Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Oh my goodness, I love the cut, and so, so, SO wish I could pull it off, but my face and my hair don't support it.. Love the still warm tones, it works so well with your complexion in my opinion.

    1. Thanks Stephanie. I'm having a lot of fun with it. Glad you like the warmer tones. It was nice to hear that something thinks it looks okay even though that not exactly what I was going for. ;)

  5. Very cute! I wish I was as adventurous as you are! I have kept pretty much the same cut (with various lengths) for years!

  6. LOVE the cut on you! I went short once a couple years ago and I often contemplate doing it again. I am such a chicken :(
