Disposable Camera Swap

A couple months ago I saw this post by Kam of Campfire Chic with this great idea for a disposable camera swap. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for disposable camera photography and knew this was right up my ally.

So I signed up, got partnered with Brittany of Blissfully Brit, and picked up a camera of my own. I loved the change of perspective and how the world looked through the lens of a different camera then I normally use.

I took all the shots, packaged up my camera, sent it to Brittany and waited to receive hers. I just picked her images up last week from my developer and had a few that just jumped out at me. I loved seeing this little peek into the daily life of someone else.

Here are my favorites that Brittany took.

I can’t wait to see how some of mine turned out. I think these images are just magical. Thanks Kam for organizing this swap and Brittany for being my swap partner. Want to see some more pictures from swappers all over? Check out the Flickr group put together just for this project. There are some awesome images.

Have you ever participated in a swap like this?
Do you like disposable camera pictures?

  1. What a cool idea! Awesome post Shaina - I hope you link your pictures up for us, I'm super curious to see them! :)

(I am the unknown author. I'm having a difficult time with Google today. IF this doesn't work with signing either, it's Kim at Fox You (Very Much): vyxen.wordpress.com )

  2. This is so awesome. I just signed up for a swap like this but the way they are running it is having a list of people and each person just takes one picture and at the end it is sent back to the original sender. I hope it ends up making it to me and back to the original sender!

    1. Oh that is really cool!! It would be like a whole big journy captured in one camera. Awesome! :) I hope it turns out cool.
      Thanks for sharing!

    2. Little bit random, but I saw you posted on one of 'www.ellamasters.com 's blog posts asking what song was used in the video, this was back in July I think
I wasn't sure if you had received a reply, so the song is by Gabrielle Aplin and it's called 'Let me in' - She's a really fabulous musician https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxddtfm66r8
You should definitely check out some of her other stuff :D

You have a lovely blog too!
Sorry that this is so random!

    1. Its so cool to pick up prints instead of just seeing how your picture looks automatically with a digital camera. Totally changed how I took pictures. I hope yours turn out fun too! :) Can't wait to see them.
