A manifesto is defined as "a public declaration of principles and intentions." And this summer we're taking a note from Ali Edwards and forming one of our own. We've come up with a list of 15 things that we want to fill our summer with and things we want to do and be and enjoy. For all of June, July and August we intend to fill our days with enjoying and celebrating summer.
We sat down together and wrote out this list.
I am so excited for this summer! Last year seemed to just fly by and we didn't go to the lake, or have people over for dinner, or enjoy the long days. But this year we will.
Summer Manifesto is going to become a new feature here on the blog. As we check things off our list and fully enjoy summer I'll share pictures and stories and hopefully talk a bit about how savoring the summer has made us a happier couple and made our lives better and richer.
Are you coming along for the ride?
Write and share your own summer manifesto!
Lets savor and celebrate the summertime.
I like the last one very, very much!
ReplyDeleteBut I don't understand no 14... Why russian? ;)
And I like this list too :)
Thanks! no. 14 is for us to be more useful within our community and teaching people about the Bible...we have a large Russian speaking population in our little town, and we want to be able to talk to them about the truth from the Bible. There is a group in our congregation that know Russian and they've encouraged us to try it too. We're looking forward to learning!
DeleteThis is awesome. :) I'll definitely have to make one of these for this summer. I was deployed last summer, and while I did have some fun in the area I was assigned to, I still missed out on a lot with friends back in Germany. Gotta make up for lost time!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you come up with for your list! :D
DeleteI've seen a couple of people doing this, and I'm thinking I ought to do the same!
ReplyDeleteYou so should!! :D
DeleteI still have yet to write my Summer checklist. Your list is good though. Hopefully, I'll get around to posting mine soon :)

I'd love to read what you come up with for your summer manifesto list. :) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI wrote a summer to do list - but a manifesto sounds so much cooler. My summer list didn't stop there - just today I made a list of things I want to do in my city. I hope to tackle some this summer.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your list and I am excited to see your progress.
I know....isn't "manifesto" the coolest word?! :D And I love the idea of making a list of things to do in your city. Its important to be tourists in our own towns sometimes. :) Have fun!
DeleteI love this! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it! I need to talk to Brandon and follow in your footsteps. What a fun idea to go back and blog about each one as you check them off! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love this!
ReplyDeleteI found you on the Bloggers Coast to Coast map and thought I'd come say hello since I live in Washington as well! :D xo
